ELITE THERAPISTS

EliteTherapists™
provide personal and confidential psychotherapeutic support based on the
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model on a one-to-one basis. Within
this framework we also provide a range of other interventions where appropriate
both privately and through the NHS by referral from your doctor.
We
help people with a wide range of anxiety related problems. The often stem
from a complex of experiences that give rise to equally complex clusters
of symptoms.
For
example,:
•
Stress at work, home or related to a traumatic event (PTSD)
May give rise to feelings of anxiety, lack of confidence,
low self esteem, helplessness, hopelessness and sometimes panic attacks
or anger
• Depression may range from mild to severe and sometimes be bi-polar
in having mood swings from elation to deep depression
May give rise to feelings of sadness, low self-esteem,
lack of confidence, helplessness and hopelessness.
• Abuse - physical, sexual or mental
May give rise to feelings of low self esteem, lack of confidence,
false guilt, shame, helplessness, anger.
•
Bereavement, major surgery, amputation
May
give rise to feelings of loss, loneliness, despair or helplessness.
Then
there are symptoms like panic attacks, which can arise due to a multiplicity
of reasons, but inevitably involve some kind of stress induced trauma.
The same could be said of eating disorders, although these may also be
due to obsessing about food or body image.
As
individuals we all handle our problems differently. Our ability to cope
is based on our experience and the beliefs we hold about ourselves, our
ability to cope and what we think others are thinking about us. The confidence
we have in our own abilities to cope with life’s crises shapes our
behaviour. This varies greatly between individuals leading to more than
1 in 4 of the UK population experiencing psychological issues each year
[1].
We
support you by helping you learn more about yourself and how to use effective
strategies that build confidence to manage your life with renewed clarity
and enthusiasm.
A
range of appointment structures are available to suit your needs. We are
usually able to see you within 1 week of contact or referral by your doctor.
